On Tuesday night, the visitors succumbed in a match they had to win to advance beyond the group stages of the UEFA Champions League, and though they played some of their most entertaining football of the season they can have no complaints about the result. Though they took the lead through Anthony Martial, they lacked composure in defence to a worrying degree and were ultimately undone by the creative genius of Julian Draxler.
Man United created more than enough chances to have won against a team that had lost only one at home in their previous nine, some scant consolation. For now, though, the Europa League is United's destination and it's a fair reflection of the football that they have played throughout this competition.
