As the search continues for the missing 2016 budget given to the National Assembly, the sitting at the senate grew tense as the senate accused the Senior Special Assistant ot the President (Senate) Senator Ita Enang of altering and circulating fake copies of the budget proposal. House of Representatives, but for the sake of officials who were quick to intercept the doctoring and insist on the circulation of the original document.
House of Representatives, but for the sake of officials who were quick to intercept the doctoring and insist on the circulation of the original document.
In defense of its integrity, the senate swore not to work on the fake proposals allegedly circulated by Enang until it receives an E- copy of the budget document which will be produced for each of the senators.
Also in a recent development the Senate have debunked rumors of a missing 2016 budget through its spokesperson Senator Sabi Abdullahi saying “The budget submitted by the President is not missing; we already have copies of it but what we are saying is that for us to reproduce for our members, it is easier, based on the quantum of document that has to be produced, that we get the soft copy of that original version so that we can reproduce it. ‘“
Senator Enang refused to comment on the issue and reveal his involvement in the whole matter, he told journalists who sought his view on the matter that he would not join issues with senators.
“I have chosen not to comment on this issue for personal reasons.
‘’We must work together to make the Senate as an institution to grow. The President is my boss and the senators are my bosses. I won’t join issues with them. So, let the whole matter remain as it is”, he said.
As issues continue to present themselves the question as always still lingers on who will bail the cat?
